Dimensions Retreats

Dimensions delivers a personalized guest experience

Dimensions offer self-betterment programs in luxurious accommodations and natural locations. Guests begin a journey to improve mental health and well-being through a combination of psychotherapy, plant medicine ceremonies, community, and complementary mind-body practices.

Situated along the shores of Maple Lake, Ontario, Dimensions Algonquin Highlands was their first five-star accommodation. To anticipate the variety of the guests' needs, Dimensions invited me to design a mobile app that managed the guest experience before, during, and after their retreat.

Dimensions opened its first luxurious accommodation in Ontario, Canada. How can they offer guests a personalized mobile experience before, during, and after their retreat?

Outcome

Designed to be a core retention and loyalty tool, the mobile app provided guests all relevant information and rich content at their fingertips. Guests discovered programs of interest, found their reservations, checked their daily itinerary, and connected with guest services right from the app.

Design Challenges

  • The guest journey stretched across multiple channels and touch points, lasting months to years. Typically the guest program featured three phases: a one-week guided preparation, an all-inclusive accommodation retreat over various days, and two weeks of post-retreat integration.

  • Any information shared during the retreats was confidential. All digital platforms and guest services systems complied fully with HIPAA and PHIPA privacy regulations.

  • I implemented a responsive layout grid to create a consistent experience across screen sizes and orientations. All interaction patterns were simple so guests and staff could complete their tasks quickly and focus their attention on improving mental health and well-being.

  • As a luxury resort, guests expect easy one-click access to reception. Guest requests were escalated to management if they were still open after 5 minutes of being received.
